Google Docs is a free online internet tool under Google. Anyone with a Google Mail (Gmail) account can access the tools that Google provides. Google Docs is a very resourceful tool that can be used for all sorts of work. It is very user friendly and easily accessible due to it being all online. There is even an app version that can be downloaded onto personal technology devices so individuals can work on the go. Google Docs is similar to Microsoft Word, however, Google Docs has a voice to text feature that Microsoft does not. This makes it easier for individuals to list ideas and brainstorm.
Google Docs provides a wide variety of templates, varying from resumes, reports, and even a simple blank one. The templates are organized into categories to help make it easier to find what fits your needs.

One of the best features of the Google internet tools is that people are able to share their work with others. When a person shares a document, they can change the editing status of each person which includes: view, comment, and edit. They are able to work simultaneously and see the edited history specific to each person. The share feature makes working together much easier, especially when people are not able to meet in person. The share feature is not only limited to Gmail users, there is an option to get a "shareable link" and anyone with that link can access the document whether they have an account or not.
Sharing Feature
There is not many downsides to Google Docs, however a person has to manually set the document to an offline mode in order to keep working on it with no internet, it does not do it automatically. Also, if a person shares the document with another person and allows them to edit it, they can delete the whole document.
However, Google Docs has so many good features and is a really useful internet tool that can be utilized for all kinds of documentation work.
